Get On With The Regular Season, Red Sox!

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

What’s up with the Red Sox playing a couple of regular season games in Tokyo, then coming back to the states, playing more exhibition games, then restarting the regular season again? What up?  Yes, it was cool to see them play in Japan and the different culture and it must’ve been a thrill for Dice-K hurling in his homeland.  He did hurl and it wasn’t pretty, but that’s another story.

I supposed they needed some travel days in between to rest, but come on, end the pre-season before the regular season starts.   Parked planning!

Super Sad Superbowl

Monday, February 4th, 2008

I’m speechless and depressed today after the Patriots loss.  Have no words as to what happened.  Both teams played hard, but the Giants played harder.  Eli was impressive.

Disappointed, but still a Patriots fan forever.   They gave us a great season.

Saw this great video on YouTube. Turn it up! Go Pats!!!

I Really Want Superbowl Tickets!

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

I love the Patriots and the chance to see them make history by going 19-0 would be better than fantastic. I can’t afford the astronomical prices for tickets, airfare from Boston, hotel, food, etc. The prices are so parked. I’ve entered every contest I could find to win Superbowl packages, so am keeping my fingers crossed, but chances aren’t good.

Would love to watch it in Arizona - what a great venue, and warm compared to these New England winters. If anyone has any extra tickets, feel free to let me know… I know, wishful thinking. Otherwise, there’s nothing like home sweet home, fireplace going, cold brewski’s and good food. Still, I really want Superbowl tickets!

More Evidence Mangini is Parked

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

The Patriots beat the Jets last Sunday - SWEEEEET! Sloppy conditions, snowballs stopped the game, Maroney ran well (although against a bad defense), 14-0 is the end result.

The saga continues about taping games. Now Belichick says the Jets never asked for permission to have a second video camera in the end zone during last year’s playoff game. According to SI, Belichick was quoted as saying, “I was never asked for permission nor was anyone in our video department asked for permission for a second end-zone camera”. This is the direct opposite of what Mangini said that he did ask permission. If he did ask and the Patriots gave approval, why would the Patriots have the second cameraman removed during the game?

It doesn’t make sense, because once again, Mangini is parked.

Barry Bonds is Parked

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

Fact: Barry Bonds is a very talented player.

Fact: Barry Bonds hit 762 home runs and broke Hank Aaron’s record.

Fact: I believe Barry Bonds used steroids.

Fact: I also believe Barry Bonds misused his talents and is a bad role model for kids.

Fact: Barry Bonds was indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice related to steroid use.

Fact: Barry Bonds is PARKED!

Enough of the ********’s

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

I’ve had enough of the asterisks and the reference to the Patriot’s coach and record. Yesterday, some parked person hired a plane to pull a banner saying, “Bonds — 762* , Belichick 3 Super Bowl Wins* “. And worse, it was flying over Gillette Stadium, the mecca.  Some jealous Jets fan probably.  If you really think that calls from films from the first Jets game or even last year are “helping” the Patriots win, then you are the most parked person I know. And that’s being nice! These other teams should be changing there plays anyway, so shame on them. They are not enough to cause a win to occur - there might be other factors like talent, work ethic, excellent coaching staff, offense, defense, special teams…just a thought.

Get over it, it happened, time to move on was a long time ago. There is no asterisk, doubt or possibility of doubt that the Patriots are the best in the NFL and maybe of all time.

P.S. Can’t wait to stuff the Jets this weekend.

Randy Moss and the Found Cell Phone

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

I just heard a great joke that I had to pass along. Not sure where it originated, but kudos to the author. Here goes:

Randy Moss came up to the ref and said, “I found your cell phone, so I wanted to return it to you.” The puzzled ref replied, “Thanks, but how did you know it was mine?” Randy answered, “Because of all the missed calls!” Baddum bump.

Crazy Monday Night Football

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Well, last night’s game between my beloved Patriots and the nasty Ravens, turned out to be well worth staying up till midnight. It had a bit of everything - excitement, anger, intensity, pushing, shoving, holding, running, and kisses. Yes, kisses! What was that about when Ravens coach, Billick was throwing kisses at Rodney Harrison - not a pretty sight. Evidently, Harrison made some comments about their quarterback that weren’t too popular. Yes, Harrison can give it and take it.

Would’ve liked to hear a lot of what was said on the field throughout the game. That’s always bugged me, that we can’t hear what coaches and players are saying/trash talking. I understand why, because the media would inevitably blow it out of proportion, but I still want to hear. Would probably be very interesting.

Besides all the trash talk, there was a lot of dirty playing on the field, and scuffles after the plays. The Ravens were called for 100 yards in penalties and should have been called for more. The were all over our receivers, so it’s no wonder they couldn’t catch a ball. The Ravens seemed to take their frustrations out on everyone else - the Patriots and the refs. What was that about when a Ravens player through the refs flag out of the endzone? I heard that the ref called him “Boy”, which was wrong, but act like a man and control yourself.

How about Don Shula in the third quarter? He was saying only complimentary things about the Patriots and how he’d be the first to congratulate them if they beat his record with Miami. So I’m thinking, “that was nicely done and professional, maybe he is redeeming himself for earlier comments”. Hmmm, not so fast. He remained in the broadcaster’s booth after his interview and you could hear him in the background laughing when the Patriots didn’t complete a pass or make a first down. Classless!

I suppose that’s enough ranting about the game. My heart is still recovering from the palpitations. No matter what happened or who’s fault, the fact remains that the Patriots were talented enough to stick with it and win the game. They are deservedly 12-0 and it hasn’t been easy, as evidenced by the last two games. Bring on Pittsburgh.

Referees are PARKED

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

If your a fan you know that what I am about to talk about is something that can roil the blood in your veins. Referees, sometimes also known as idiots can be the biggest bunch of Parked People on this earth. Especially when the games they referee are so one sided in their penalty calling. Their lack of fair play is so blatant you want to call the Commissioner and fine him for hiring/sanctioning such a bunch of dopes.

The Patriots - Colts match up last week was a prime example. Granted Peyton Manning is a great QB and his team is pretty solid on defense and offense, but you know what - they “ain’t” angels on the field.

The referees made a lot of one sided penalty calls or failed to call a penalty at all. What this proves is that there is a lot of inconsistency, and fear on the part of referees. Why!

  • Were they afraid to be fair?
  • Were they afraid of the crowd
  • Were they being paid off to look the other way?
  • Were they trying to give the edge to the NFL’s “favorite” son, Peyty Pie?
  • Were they trying to “punish” the Patriots for some inane reason like the entire league being envious of Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Mike Vrabel et. el.

Or my favorite and preferred reason……..ARE THEY JUST STUPID?

Yeah, I get a little intense on this issue because the success of any team is based on the honesty and integrity of the referees. If they don’t call all the infractions on both sides then they should be removed from the game, immediately. I’ve watched to many games and seen a lot of good teams get the “shaft” because of poor penalty calling. Something needs to be done and the NFL Commissioner needs to re-examine this issue and fire the idiots masquerading as referees because, it’s almost as if the win is not in the hands of the team, but whether or not the referees play fair!
