Randy Moss and the Found Cell Phone

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

I just heard a great joke that I had to pass along. Not sure where it originated, but kudos to the author. Here goes:

Randy Moss came up to the ref and said, “I found your cell phone, so I wanted to return it to you.” The puzzled ref replied, “Thanks, but how did you know it was mine?” Randy answered, “Because of all the missed calls!” Baddum bump.

Crazy Monday Night Football

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Well, last night’s game between my beloved Patriots and the nasty Ravens, turned out to be well worth staying up till midnight. It had a bit of everything - excitement, anger, intensity, pushing, shoving, holding, running, and kisses. Yes, kisses! What was that about when Ravens coach, Billick was throwing kisses at Rodney Harrison - not a pretty sight. Evidently, Harrison made some comments about their quarterback that weren’t too popular. Yes, Harrison can give it and take it.

Would’ve liked to hear a lot of what was said on the field throughout the game. That’s always bugged me, that we can’t hear what coaches and players are saying/trash talking. I understand why, because the media would inevitably blow it out of proportion, but I still want to hear. Would probably be very interesting.

Besides all the trash talk, there was a lot of dirty playing on the field, and scuffles after the plays. The Ravens were called for 100 yards in penalties and should have been called for more. The were all over our receivers, so it’s no wonder they couldn’t catch a ball. The Ravens seemed to take their frustrations out on everyone else - the Patriots and the refs. What was that about when a Ravens player through the refs flag out of the endzone? I heard that the ref called him “Boy”, which was wrong, but act like a man and control yourself.

How about Don Shula in the third quarter? He was saying only complimentary things about the Patriots and how he’d be the first to congratulate them if they beat his record with Miami. So I’m thinking, “that was nicely done and professional, maybe he is redeeming himself for earlier comments”. Hmmm, not so fast. He remained in the broadcaster’s booth after his interview and you could hear him in the background laughing when the Patriots didn’t complete a pass or make a first down. Classless!

I suppose that’s enough ranting about the game. My heart is still recovering from the palpitations. No matter what happened or who’s fault, the fact remains that the Patriots were talented enough to stick with it and win the game. They are deservedly 12-0 and it hasn’t been easy, as evidenced by the last two games. Bring on Pittsburgh.
